We are recruiting on behalf of a leading national organisation for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Controller to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and day-to-day operational performance of a large vehicle fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive fleet professional to play a key role in ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational while driving efficiency and reducing downtime across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance across the vehicle fleet.
- Manage vehicle repairs, servicing, MOTs and breakdowns.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles remain compliant with relevant transport legislation.
- Liaise with suppliers and maintenance providers to achieve agreed service levels.
- Monitor fleet performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage vehicle downtime and ensure operational disruption is kept to a minimum.
- Review maintenance schedules and ensure servicing is completed on time.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Support the continuous improvement of fleet processes and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience within fleet maintenance or fleet management.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, compliance and transport legislation.
- Experience managing external suppliers and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient IT skills and experience using fleet management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
