An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established property maintenance and refurbishment contractor delivering planned maintenance and repairs across the social housing sector. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the commercial success of multiple projects, working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment.
- Price variations and manage project valuations.
- Monitor project costs, cashflow and profitability.
- Review and manage Schedule of Rates (SOR) data.
- Finalise completed works to support timely invoicing.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and payments.
- Procure best value from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Produce accurate cost forecasts and financial reports.
- Identify commercial risks and support project teams with contract compliance.
- Prepare quotations, estimates and loss & expense claims where applicable.
- Ensure all commercial processes are completed accurately and in line with contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or property maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates.
- Experience with JCT, NEC and NHF forms of contract.
- Understanding of Price Per Property and Target Cost contract models.
- Social housing experience is desirable.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong IT and financial reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
