Assistant Site Manager Location: Salford, Greater Manchester Position: Permanent Sector: High-Rise Residential / Specialist Construction The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing specialist construction contractor for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join their team on a major high-rise residential development in Salford. This is a permanent opportunity for a construction professional with experience across high-rise developments, live sites and firestopping/passive fire protection. You will support the Site Manager with the day-to-day delivery of the project, coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades while ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard. About the Company Our client is a specialist construction contractor with extensive UK experience across passive fire protection, firestopping, fire doors, drylining and building safety remediation. They deliver specialist packages across major residential and commercial developments, including complex and high-rise projects, with a strong focus on quality, compliance and building safety. The Role Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Site Manager with daily site operations. Coordinating subcontractors, specialist trades and site operatives. Monitoring progress against the programme and identifying potential delays. Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and RAMS. Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality. Coordinating firestopping, passive fire protection, fire door and drylining works. Liaising with the Client, consultants and wider project team. Supporting short-term planning and look-ahead programmes. Monitoring subcontractor performance and progress. Assisting with inspections, snagging and project handover. Maintaining accurate site records and project documentation. Experience Required The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar. Experience working on high-rise residential or commercial developments. Strong live-site experience. Experience managing subcontractors and specialist trades. Knowledge of firestopping, passive fire protection, fire doors and/or drylining. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Good understanding of health and safety requirements. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Qualifications SMSTS CSCS First Aid Relevant NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification desirable. Firestopping/passive fire protection experience or qualifications advantageous.
