A leading Civil Engineering, Groundworks, and Specialist Drainage contractor is expanding its team and looking for skilled Groundworkers to support a range of projects across the North West. The Role: We are seeking experienced Machine Operatives with the relevant training to work on a busy residential site in the North West A GPS Machine operator uses advanced GPS technology to control and operate heavy machinery, like excavators or dozers, for construction and earthworks projects. Their main role is to follow a 3D digital model to accurately cut or fill material with high precision, which improves efficiency and accuracy. This requires training, relevant certifications from registered training providers. Key responsibilities Operate machinery: Use heavy equipment equipped with GPS machine control systems to perform tasks such as digging, grading, and moving earth. Follow digital designs: Use the integrated GPS system to follow a 3D design model, which guides the machine to cut or fill material precisely. Monitor and maintain equipment: Check that the machine and GPS system are functioning correctly, performing quality checks, and ensuring adequate supplies are available for the job. Adjust for changes: Make necessary adjustments to the machine for different functions or changeovers to meet production needs. Required skills and qualifications Certifications: Possess a valid certification, (CPCS) (NPORS CSCS) card, which is often required for this type of role. Along side the GPS Training.
