Our client is a multi-disciplined construction company based in the Northwest. Due to a busy work stream, they are looking for an Estimator to join their team in Merseyside. Their projects range from £100k to £6mil.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects, ensuring tenders are commercially viable and aligned with company objectives.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to understand project requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and include appropriate contingencies.
- Liaise with project managers, clients and commercial teams.
- Assist in value engineering to optimise cost without compromising quality.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical records.
- Account for unknowns and potential variations.
- Price works using schedules of rates.
Requirements:
- Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar.
