We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team based in Warrington, Cheshire with travel to project sites across the region. This is a full-time, permanent role where you'll play a key part in cost management and commercial delivery on residential construction projects.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, your main focus will be to:
- Manage all cost-related aspects of allocated projects from procurement through to final account settlement.
- Minimise project costs while maintaining high standards of quality and value for money.
- Administer contracts, process monthly applications, and reconcile final accounts.
- Support commercial decision-making by preparing cost analysis, tender documentation, and budget reports.
- Attend design and development meetings to advise on cost implications and contractual matters.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including land, development, and construction to drive commercial performance and support commercial strategy.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in candidates who demonstrate:
- A recognised qualification such as an HNC in Surveying or Construction (or equivalent).
- Experience within the construction industry, ideally in residential housing or similar sectors.
- Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and networking abilities.
- Business-focused mindset with a good understanding of budget management and commercial risk.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable: Professional membership or working towards membership (e.g., MCIOB or RICS), experience with different construction methods such as timber frame, and prior national house builder experience.
