The Role
We are seeking an experienced Passive Fire Surveyor to carry out fire door, fire stopping, and compartmentation surveys across a range of residential, healthcare, educational, and commercial properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying compliance issues, providing technical guidance, and ensuring passive fire protection systems meet current regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fire door, passive fire stopping, and compartmentation surveys.
- Inspect properties and assess compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
- Provide recommendations and technical guidance on remedial works.
- Identify defects and compliance issues, producing accurate survey reports.
- Record survey findings using digital inspection and reporting systems.
- Carry out occasional minor remedial works, including adjustments to fire doors and associated ironmongery.
- Work independently and as part of a wider compliance team.
- Travel across the East Anglia region to conduct site inspections.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in passive fire surveying, fire door inspections, or fire stopping inspections.
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems, regulations, and certification requirements.
- Previous hands-on experience within fire door installation or fire stopping is advantageous.
- Familiarity with FIRAS, BM TRADA, or similar certification schemes preferred.
- Experience using digital survey and inspection software desirable.
- Good IT skills and ability to produce accurate reports.
- Full UK driving licence.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to fire safety compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
