The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established national property maintenance and refurbishment contractor delivering services across a range of sectors, including healthcare, defence, education, commercial, leisure, and residential housing. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join their team, working across Devon and Cornwall on void properties, kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes, and major repairs projects. This is a plumbing-led role with opportunities to utilise additional trade skills to support project completion and deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out plumbing installations, repairs, and refurbishments, including:
    • Bathroom and kitchen installations
    • Pipework systems
    • Hot and cold water services
    • Work on occupied and void properties
  • Support kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes.
  • Assist with major repairs and planned maintenance works.
  • Undertake associated multi-trade tasks, including:
    • Minor carpentry works
    • Boxing-in and finishing works
    • General property repairs
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and complete relevant risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and site teams to deliver projects on schedule.

Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Plumbing (or equivalent experience).
  • WRAS approval.
  • Experience working on void properties, kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, or major repairs.
  • Multi-trade skills including some combination of:
    • Carpentry
    • Tiling
    • Plastering
    • Decorating
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • DBS clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Desirable

  • Unvented Hot Water Systems certification.
  • Gas Safe accreditation.
