A leading design and build organisation is seeking a

Senior Technical Designer to lead the technical delivery of projects, translating creative design into coordinated, compliant and buildable solutions.

The role involves working across design, pre-construction and construction teams, coordinating clients, consultants and contractors while ensuring quality, cost, programme and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design delivery across all project stages, from concept through to construction and completion.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP and specialist design information.
  • Translate design intent into practical, buildable and compliant solutions.
  • Produce, review and coordinate technical drawing and documentation packages.
  • Lead technical reviews, identify design risks and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage client and consultant expectations around technical design.
  • Ensure designs meet relevant regulations, standards, specifications, cost and programme requirements.
  • Coordinate BIM and clash detection using tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
  • Support tendering, approvals, Building Regulations submissions and construction documentation.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, shop drawings and design changes.
  • Ensure high-quality completion documentation, including as-builts, O&M information and residual risk records.
  • Mentor and support technical and design team members.
  • Promote consistent technical, quality, compliance and sustainability standards across projects.
  • Work closely with commercial, project management, site and pre-construction teams to successfully deliver projects.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or a related discipline.

6+ years' experience in technical design and project delivery.

  • Experience within design & build, commercial interiors or a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong proficiency in

Revit, Auto CAD and BIM coordination tools .

  • Experience working with a Common Data Environment (CDE) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction detailing, materials, technical documentation and building regulations.
  • Knowledge of

CDM 2015, Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act .

Desirable Skills

  • Strong technical, design and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience with fast-track or design & build procurement.
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards such as BREEAM, WELL or LEED.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, compliance and technical quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and organisational skills.
