Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of electrical utility infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and renewable energy developments. The successful candidate will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, subcontractors, and stakeholders, the Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including health and safety, programme management, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.
Projects may include HV/LV electrical networks, substations, new connections, diversions, reinforcement schemes, EV infrastructure connections, renewable energy connections, and associated civil engineering works.
Principal Responsibilities- Project Delivery
- Manage electrical utility projects from planning through to energisation and handover.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress and implement mitigation measures where required.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, local authorities, developers, and consultants.
- Manage project communications, reporting, and stakeholder expectations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships throughout project delivery.
- Commercial & Contract Management
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Support management of variations, compensation events, and change control.
- Work closely with commercial teams to maximise project profitability.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Management
- Oversee delivery of HV and LV electrical infrastructure works.
- Coordinate substations, cable installations, switchgear, transformers, and associated utility assets.
- Manage testing, commissioning, and energisation activities.
- Ensure compliance with DNO, IDNO, and industry standards.
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical and civil engineering works.
- Health, Safety & Quality
- Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industry regulations, and company procedures.
- Review RAMS and conduct regular site inspections.
- Implement quality assurance processes and maintain project records.
- Drive a right-first-time approach to project delivery.
- Proven experience delivering electrical utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of HV and LV distribution networks.
- Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, or utility contractors.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and energisation processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing project budgets, programmes, and commercial performance.

- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- NRSWA Supervisor.
- NEC contract experience.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- AP or SAP authorisation experience.
- APM, Prince2, or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience delivering utility connections for EV charging, renewable energy, or battery storage projects.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
