Site Manager (Retrofit & Decarbonisation)

About the Role

Our client is a leading contractor delivering large-scale retrofit, decarbonisation and renewable energy projects across the UK.

Working predominantly within the social housing sector, they specialise in improving the energy efficiency of residential properties through the installation of low-carbon technologies and sustainable building solutions.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee retrofit and decarbonisation projects across Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional with experience managing refurbishment, social housing or energy efficiency schemes.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working alongside clients, subcontractors and operational teams, you will coordinate site activities, monitor progress and ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of construction sites from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Produce weekly progress reports for the contract management team.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure all works are carried out safely.
  • Monitor project programmes and coordinate labour and subcontractor resources to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Deliver regular toolbox talks and promote a positive health and safety culture.
  • Plan site logistics, welfare facilities and equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate material orders and deliveries in line with the construction programme.
  • Ensure all works meet design specifications, quality standards and current building regulations.
  • Liaise with commercial teams regarding project costs, variations and programme updates.
  • Organise and chair regular progress meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspections and project documentation.
  • Carry out regular health and safety inspections and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
  • Experience delivering social housing, refurbishment, retrofit or decarbonisation projects.
  • SMSTS Certificate.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work (3-Day).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035.
  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management.
  • Experience delivering renewable energy or energy efficiency programmes.
