An established commercial property and asset management business is looking to appoint a Senior Estimator on a full-time, permanent basis. The business manages a significant commercial and industrial property portfolio across the UK and continues to grow through both existing assets and future development pipeline. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a well-established property group with a varied workload across commercial offices, industrial properties, refurbishments and fit-out projects. The role would suit someone who is commercially aware, technically confident and comfortable working across multiple projects at any given time.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost plans and estimates across a range of commercial and industrial property projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and interpreting client briefs, drawings and project documentation
- Producing detailed cost plans aligned with project requirements
- Pricing multiple projects at different stages of development
- Using technical knowledge to price works effectively, including where information may be limited
- Working closely with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Carrying out site surveys to support design, measurement and quantifying
- Identifying project risks and making suitable cost allowances
- Providing pre-construction advice to support project decision-making
- Understanding compliance requirements and allowing for these within cost plans
- Assessing how project progress, design changes or site conditions may impact cost
- Following internal procedures and supporting wider business objectives
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have estimating experience within construction, commercial fit-out, office refurbishment, industrial property, commercial interiors or building refurbishment. You may currently be working as a:
- Senior Estimator
- Estimator
- Pre-Construction Estimator
- Commercial Estimator
- Quantity Surveyor with estimating experience
- Fit-Out Estimator
- Refurbishment Estimator
Experience across commercial offices and industrial environments would be particularly beneficial.
Key Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within construction, fit-out or refurbishment
- Strong understanding of commercial office and/or industrial property projects
- Ability to interpret briefs, drawings, specifications and associated documentation
- Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage and price multiple projects at the same time
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt when priorities change
