A leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Director to join its senior leadership team. With a strong pipeline of residential and infrastructure projects, this is a key appointment to support continued growth and operational excellence.
As Contracts Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple groundworks and infrastructure projects. You will lead and develop operational teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a senior leadership position requiring a strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a hands-on approach to operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage multiple contracts across various sites
- Lead, mentor, and develop Contracts Managers and site teams
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations
- Drive health & safety standards and ensure full compliance across all operations
- Maintain and build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Provide strategic input to support business growth and operational efficiency
- Monitor financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability
- Support pre-construction and tender processes where required
- Proven experience in a senior operational role within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management capability
