An established and award-winning workplace consultancy and design & build business is looking to appoint a Creative Lead Designer to join its growing design team. This is a senior creative role within a highly regarded commercial interiors business delivering workplace consultancy, office interior design, fit‑out, furniture and workplace technology projects for major UK clients. The role would suit a creative workplace designer who is confident taking a brief, shaping the design direction, and producing high‑quality concepts that can be presented clearly and commercially to clients.

The Role

As Creative Lead Designer, you will be responsible for leading the creative response on workplace projects from early‑stage brief through to concept and presentation. You will work closely with clients, workplace consultants, technical designers, pre‑construction teams and delivery colleagues to create design‑led, practical and commercially viable workplace solutions. You will play a key role in helping clients understand how their space can support culture, productivity, collaboration, wellbeing and future ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative design response for commercial workplace and office fit‑out projects.
  • Develop concepts, mood boards, layouts, finishes, visuals and presentation material.
  • Interpret client briefs and translate them into inspiring, practical workplace schemes.
  • Present design ideas confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure creative intent is maintained through the project lifecycle.
  • Support pitches, tenders and client presentations.
  • Keep up to date with workplace trends, materials, furniture, sustainability and design innovation.
  • Mentor and support more junior members of the design team where required.

Ideal Background

  • Experience in workplace design, commercial interiors, office fit‑out or design & build.
  • Strong creative flair with the ability to produce polished, client‑facing design presentations.
  • Confident presenting ideas and influencing clients.
  • Good understanding of workplace strategy, space planning and modern office environments.
  • Experience using relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Suite or similar.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial and technical practicality.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
