The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
This position plays a critical role in assisting in the advancement of new products and technologies with the primary purpose of preparing component recipes and prototype making. The Principal Technician (Prototyping) is responsible for being a lead for technical support, problem solving and troubleshooting and scale-up for R&D projects delivered in the Pilot Plant.
They will utilize the proper techniques, procedures and training necessary to support and lead the execution of kitchen and Pilot Plant trials and experiments. Working with guidance from Product Development Scientists and Engineers, they will be responsible for the application of technical expertise in product formulation, making samples by hand and through operating small-scale equipment and machinery (e.g. mixers, caramel cooking, chocolate moulding, coating and decorating).
The jobholder also has responsibility for providing process or product insights and feedback to cross-functional stakeholders involved in product development trials. The role requires a passion and creative flair for innovating with confectionary and snack foods. You will be working alongside product developers, living the art of developing prototypes in our world class R&D facilities which form part of a global chocolate and snacking business.
