We are looking for site supervisors for one of our top clients for Darlington and Thirsk sites. The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of civil engineering and groundworks on a residential development. You will manage sub-contractors, ensure strict adherence to technical drawings, and maintain a rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) process for all plot-related works - from initial excavations to final hard landscaping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plot Works & Groundworks Management
    • Oversee the delivery of substructure works, including excavations, footings, and floor slabs.
    • Manage the installation of plot drainage (foul and surface water) and ensure correct falls and connections.
    • Supervise the installation of utilities and ducting (water, gas, electric, fibre).
    • Coordinate external works, including driveways, kerbing, paving, and topsoiling.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Compliance
    • Conduct and document formal QA inspections at critical stages (e.g., pre-pour checks, drainage air tests).
    • Maintain 'As-Built' records and ensure all work meets NHBC/LABC standards and Building Regulations.
    • Identify and manage the rectification of any defects or snags promptly.
    • Ensure all materials used meet the specified site requirements and are stored correctly.
  • Site Operations & Safety
    • Deliver daily briefings and Toolbox Talks to the site team.
    • Ensure all works are carried out under the approved RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
    • Monitor site progress against the build programme and report delays to the Site Manager.
    • Coordinate plant and material deliveries to maintain workflow without cluttering the site.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
