We are working on a role for a Senior Estimator to join a Tier 1 business based near Slough. They are an established and well-respected business with turnover secured for the next few years. They are in the ideal position to be selective about both schemes and clients to focus on. All their work is negotiated directly with the client or minimum 2 stage bid from framework opportunities - they don't take risks and don't buy work for turnover or vanity. They have returned healthy profits for the last 5 years, have cash in the bank and have a trusted supply chain who work with them to deliver on time, on budget schemes they are proud of.

Projects range across education, leisure, healthcare, student accommodation, local authority and urban regeneration schemes, with values ranging from £10 to £75 million across the Thames Valley region. The role is to work within the work winning team and you will be the first point of contact after PQQ. You will be required to assess the scheme, compile packages and a brief scope of works, and provide an initial cost plan for the individual packages, then pull them all together to form the basis of the bid.

You will also be required to be involved with the estimating of 2nd stage schemes, working with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to firm up exact costs, programmes and specifications to take the scheme out onto site for delivery. You will be supported every step of the way and form a bid team normally comprising of an estimator, bid manager, bid writer, planner, commercial support and operational input usually from the project manager who will eventually deliver the scheme. This has proved effective in both winning and then delivering high quality projects each and every time.

The role would ideally suit an estimator or cost planner looking to join a growing business where you can progress and have a clear career path and promotion opportunities based solely on your individual performance. There is a succession plan in place for the right candidate to develop over an agreed time period to take over the running of the estimating function as lead or managing estimator and build, develop and grow the team and function.

They offer competitive salary packages and agile/hybrid working is also available. This really is a special opportunity to define your own role within a successful business.
