Our client, tier 1 main contractors in JV, require an experienced Quality Manager on a freelance basis, to work on a high speed Major rail Project, throughout Bucks. You can work hybrid from Home and also the office in Aylesbury. My client is looking for a Quality Manager to join on a temporary basis for 12 months. This role is based just outside of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
Due to the remote location of the site compound, it is essential you hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle. This role will require you to provide leadership to the Quality Assurance Engineers and Administrators in the section of works. You would need to deputise for the Project Quality Manager as required.
You'd be expected to understand and implement all quality requirements, working closely with the Construction Delivery Teams. You'd need to promote understanding of the principles and importance of self assurance within the Construction Delivery Team too.
The role requires you to support delivery of all project related, construction phase quality assurance activities to provide comprehensive documentation adequate for use by the Handover & Completions Team. The position requires you to develop and utilise relationships with client representatives and internal stakeholders to deliver all construction related aspects of quality and assurance.
You will need to use relevant IT systems to manage all relevant quality documentation and records. We expect you to work collaboratively with the delivery teams to plan for product realisation through inspection and test plans, Work Package plans, etc. As well as actively understand quality issues and be instrumental in finding solutions with the Construction Delivery team, the quality team and subject matter experts.
We will need your help in supporting delivery teams in raising non-conformance reports (NCR) and associated root cause analyses and promote timely closure of NCRs. We'd like you to deliver training and awareness packages as part of a wider programme to quality and non-quality professionals.
A key part of the role is to lead continuous improvement of standards, practices and procedures in the Business Management System. As well as communicate the benefits and knowledge of the Business Management System.
We would need you to carry out internal audits and other quality surveillance activities as required. You will also be collating KPI data for trend analysis and monthly reporting into the client. You must actively support the Project Quality Assurance Manager in delivering the Quality Strategy and encourage and promote the "Speak Up", "Choices" and "Right First Time" initiatives.

- Experience in managing Quality Teams in a construction environment
- Hold a recognised Quality qualification and be a member of the CQI Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 preferred)
- Hold a CSCS White (Or above) card
- Excellent organisation and management skills
- Attention to detail and communication skills
- You must hold a full driving license
