The Project: Multi-million Overhead Line Installation (Tier 1 Contractor / Specialist Subcontractor)
Location: Isle of Skye, Scotland (Accommodation Paid)
Rate: £25.70 per hour (CIS)
Rota: 11 days on, 3 days off
Start Date: February 2026
Duration: Long-Term Ongoing Contract (Expected 2-3 Years)
The Role: We are recruiting highly skilled, time-served Pipe Layers to join a critical, long-term energy infrastructure project on the Isle of Skye. This project involves complex groundworks and utility installations across challenging terrain, primarily focused on establishing drainage, deep services, and ducting around the new concrete pads.
The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, expert in setting out, and working to high specifications in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Drainage Installation: Proficiently installing deep and shallow drainage systems (foul and surface water) to engineered specifications.
- Setting Out & Levels: Accurately using drainage lasers and levels to achieve required falls and inverts, ensuring correct alignment.
- Ducting & Services: Laying utility ducting and associated services (water, comms) in trenches around the new transmission tower bases.
- Trench Safety: Ensuring correct trench support (shoring, battering) is used at all times, working safely alongside 360 operators.
- Manholes & Chambers: Building/fitting manholes, inspection chambers, and headwalls as required.
- Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker Card or Gold Supervisor Card preferred).
- Pipe Laying Certification or demonstrable time-served experience (references required).
- Relevant CPCS/NPORS tickets (e.g., Forward Tipping Dumper) are highly beneficial.
- Proven experience working on large civil engineering sites, ideally involved in utility infrastructure or deep drainage.
- Must be able to commit to the structured 11-on, 3-off rotation starting in February.
