Pay rate: £18.36 per hour
We are seeking an experienced candidate with 3-5 years' experience in a similar role for the position of Patent Administrator. A UK CIPA qualification is required. This role offers a balanced working condition, with 2 days office-based and 3 days working from home.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinating with attorneys and administration team to identify and manage deadlines.
- Tracking and updating due dates via Memotech Database system.
- Handling patent formalities, including preparing documents such as POAs, Assignments, using templates.
- Preparing applications for filing via EPO, UKIPO, PCT online filing tools.
- Corresponding with foreign agents to file patents and other official patent actions via email.
- Managing ad hoc formal patent requirements.
- Preparing correspondence, including emails and official letters.
Personal Skills:
We are seeking a reliable administrator with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, reporting to the UK Team Lead, as well as independently once trained. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role involves interaction with attorneys, administrators, and external agents. Flexibility and agility to adapt to different ways of working, especially in an international environment, are also required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- CIPA patent paralegal/administrator qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a patent administration role is preferred, but candidates with general office administration experience and the right skills and willingness to learn patents will be considered.
- Good working knowledge in patent databases such as Memotech / Inprotech and online filing tools like EPO OLF, ePCT, and UK filings is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is required.
- Good knowledge of English, both oral and written, is essential.
