The Opportunity

Are you ready to play a key role in the AMP8 investment cycle? We are seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major water and wastewater treatment framework in London. This is a critical position within a high-pressure, high-reward environment. We need a specialist who understands the unique rigors of the water sector and can drive the delivery of essential infrastructure upgrades through 2030. With an immediate start available, you will integrate directly into the project team to oversee complex mechanical workstreams across major treatment works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all mechanical engineering works meet the stringent specifications of the water authority (Thames Water) and regulatory environmental standards.
  • Site Coordination: Act as the technical bridge between design teams, equipment suppliers, and site delivery operations to resolve complex engineering challenges on site.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain an uncompromising approach to safety, particularly regarding confined spaces, lifting operations, and chemical/hazardous environments typical of water treatment sites.
  • AMP8 Delivery: Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities specifically tailored to water and wastewater treatment works and capital infrastructure upgrades.
  • Technical Management: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical plant, including pumps, pipework, valves, chemical dosing systems, screens, and aeration equipment.

Requirements

  • Water Sector Experience (Essential): Deep understanding of water industry standards, with previous project delivery experience in AMP6, AMP7, or early AMP8 cycles.
  • Background: Proven track record as a Project Engineer with a strong background in mechanical plant installations within heavy civils or process industries.
  • Qualifications: Relevant Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering; valid CSCS card and EUSR (National Water Hygiene) card preferred.
  • Immediate Availability: Ability to commence work in London immediately.
