About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer focused primarily on inspection and testing to join our nighttime infrastructure team. Operating on a fixed Sunday-to-Thursday night schedule, the majority of your work will involve testing distribution boards, RCBOs, and downstream circuits to ensure compliance, safety, and reliability across airport facilities during non-peak operational hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fixed wire inspection and testing (EICR) across commercial distribution boards, sub-mains, RCBOs, and general electrical installations.
- Carry out systematic fault-finding, verification, and component replacement (e.g., swapping out faulty RCBOs, breakers, and distribution components).
- Complete accurate test certificates and compliance reporting using digital testing software and handheld devices.
- Identify urgent electrical defects and perform remedial repairs during the shift to clear hazards before peak daytime operations.
- Strictly follow safe isolation procedures, issue Permits to Work, and adhere to airside Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- City & Guilds 2391 (or 2392/2394/2395) Inspection & Testing qualification - Essential.
- Clean DBS check & 5-year checkable work history - Must be able to successfully pass background screening to secure an airside ID pass (Essential).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or C&G equivalent).
- BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
