We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team at an established regional business near Southampton to manage schemes up to £20 million. The contractor is an established regional business operating across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex on negotiated and single-stage bids up to £30 million, with a sweet spot of £8 to £20 million schemes. They work across education, care, student, leisure, retail, and industrial schemes. Turnover is secured through 2029 with other opportunities in the pipeline, and they have just been awarded two new schemes to start in July this year.
The role of Senior QS starts with the estimating and business development teams where you will help and advise on cost plans and use your experience to make the tender and bid as strong as possible. Upon award you will be responsible for subcontractor selection and procurement of packages. You will then take the scheme onto site and manage through final account, handling payments, valuations, variation accounts, forecasting, CVR preparation, etc. You will have full autonomy on site to run the scheme within company guidelines and report directly to the Commercial Director. You will have the full support of head office systems and work closely with the PM and delivery team to achieve the best results for the company.
