As an ethical, sector‑leading firm at the forefront of renewable energy and recycling, they are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Team Lead or Supervisor to join their Exeter team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The Role: As the second‑in‑command for day operations, you will lead a specialist team to ensure maximum plant reliability and safety. This is a "safety‑first" leadership role where you will manage the Safe System of Work as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Document all site observations in line with H&S, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Compliance: Ensure the plant operates within the EPR (Environmental Permitting Regulations) and IED standards at all times.
- Maintenance Management: Oversee the CMMS to ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is recorded and completed.
- Contractor Management: Induct and manage onsite contractors, issuing Permits to Work (PTW) and ensuring strict adherence to RAMS.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead regular team huddles and implement CI projects to optimise plant performance.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years in a high‑pressure process environment (Waste to Energy, Incineration, Power Gen, or Biomass).
- Technical Qualifications: Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Safety Qualifications: IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Authorisation: You must have proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
- Systems: Strong understanding of EPR permits, CEMS, and the use of CMMS (e.g., SAP, Holis, or Maximo).
