We are seeking a technically-minded Project Engineer for a high-priority Water Upgrade Scheme in Deal. This is a year-long contract for a professional who excels at the intersection of design management and site delivery. The project involves complex asset upgrades where the "brains" of the operation—the power distribution, control logic, and system integration—are the critical path. We need an engineer who can look at a P&ID or a schematic and immediately understand the sequencing and infrastructure required to make it live.

This position is perfect for an engineer who is bored with pure civil works and prefers the technical complexity of systems-driven infrastructure. You will oversee the transition of designs into functional, powered assets.

  • Design Coordination: Facilitating the review of technical packages, specifically focusing on the integration of power systems, MCCs, and telemetry.
  • Technical Oversight: Managing the installation of complex plant equipment where cabling, power supply, and control signals are the primary focus.
  • ICA Liaison: Working closely with automation specialists to ensure that all instrumentation and control logic aligns with the overarching project design.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensuring all installations meet the rigorous WIMES and safety standards required for modern water treatment facilities.

Desired Experience

  • Technical Background: You likely come from a background where you've managed heavy power, control systems, or complex machinery installations.
  • Water Industry Expertise: Previous experience on water/wastewater schemes is essential, specifically involving the upgrade of pumping stations or treatment works.
  • The "ICA" Edge: While not a requirement, a strong grasp of Instrumentation, Control, and Automation will significantly set you apart in this role.
  • Design Savvy: Experience managing technical RFIs and ensuring that what is designed is actually "buildable" from a systems perspective.

Contract Overview

  • Duration: 12 Months.
  • Location: Deal, Kent (Site-based).
  • Daily Rate: £400 - £440 (LTD or PAYE options available).
