Project Overview
We are seeking a competent Site Engineer to handle the setting out and engineering control for a bridge construction project in Coventry. This is a 9-month contract covering structural concrete works, piling, abutments, and associated approach roads. You will be the lead technical presence on the ground, ensuring all structural and civil works are delivered precisely to design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out: Accurate setting out of all bridge infrastructure, including piles, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, and alignment levels.
- Quality Control: Establish and manage ITPs, conduct pre-pour inspections, and compile accurate As-Built surveys for the quality health and safety file.
- Technical Support: Interpret structural drawings, identify design clashes early, and manage RFIs between the site team and consulting engineers.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Work closely with the Site Manager and structural/groundworks gangs to ensure technical compliance and smooth delivery.
Requirements
- Civil Infrastructure Experience: Proven track record as a Site Engineer on bridges, structures, or major highway schemes.
- Equipment: Must be fully proficient with modern robotic total stations and GPS kit.
- Education: HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS card. Any safety tickets (SSSTS/SMSTS) are advantageous.
