Are you a skilled Site Engineer looking to play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects? We are currently seeking dedicated professionals to join our team for an urgent, long-term opportunity specialising in highways and enabling works. If you are passionate about precision engineering and thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you immediately.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Site Engineer, you will be the heartbeat of our site operations. You will be responsible for the technical control and implementation of works, ensuring our high standards of safety and quality are met every day. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Setting Out: Utilising GPS and Total Station equipment for roadworks, earthworks, and drainage.
- Site Safety: Managing permits to dig, conducting safety inspections, and delivering site briefings to the workforce.
- Digital Documentation: Maintaining accurate daily site records, progress logs, and photographic evidence.
- Project Collaboration: Producing work sketches and coordinating with the wider team to ensure seamless project delivery.
Your Profile
We are looking for self-starters who take ownership of their tasks. While highways experience is beneficial, we welcome candidates with strong backgrounds in civil engineering, utilities, or groundworks. Essential requirements include:
- Strong proficiency with setting out techniques (Level, EDM, and GPS).
- A current driving license and valid CSCS card.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Flexibility regarding working hours, including potential unsociable hours or night shifts.
What We Offer
Compensation: Up to £500/day (Umbrella, inside IR35)
Urgency: This role requires an immediate start.
Longevity: While the initial contract runs through to the end of November 2026, the project scope for enabling works extends for 1.5-2 years, making extensions highly likely.
