We are recruiting for experienced Site Supervisors and Senior Site Supervisors to oversee various local highway infrastructure schemes based out of Bexhill, East Sussex. Projects range from smaller high-volume schemes (£200k - £500k) such as cycleways and junction improvements, through to major highway civil packages (£2m - £5m) including dual carriageways and roundabout construction. Works cover pure infrastructure delivery including excavation, reinstatement, surfacing, kerbing, paving, drainage, street furniture, and civil engineering installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Oversee day-to-day operations on site, briefing labor teams and directing specialised supply chain subcontractors.
  • Digital Site Controls: Manage site reporting, log site diaries, issue Permits to Dig, and review digital project documents using a tablet/laptop.
  • Safety & Permits: Conduct site inductions, deliver daily briefings, review RAMS, issue safe system permits, and enforce zero-harm standards.
  • Temporary Works Awareness: Maintain ongoing vigilance over active site areas to identify and report any temporary works defects or risks.
  • Quality & Programme: Inspect works on the ground directly against drawings, monitor progress against the construction schedule, and maintain quality assurance logs.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record supervising highway civils, major infrastructure schemes, or Section 278 works.
  • Tech Literacy: Comfortable using tablets and laptops for daily site administration and reporting.
  • Certifications:
    • SMSTS
    • CSCS Card (Gold Supervisor or Black Managerial)
    • First Aid at Work
    • NRSWA Supervisor (Essential)
    • EUSR (Desirable / Project specific)
  • Mobility: Full UK Driving Licence mandatory.

Work hours

Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (Standard day shifts; rare night work may be required depending on highway access windows).

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
