We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Risk Assessor to join our team. As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for evaluating fire safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and providing recommendations to mitigate fire hazards in various types of buildings and facilities.

Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Approved Document B, latest regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using relevant software and tools for fire risk assessments and reporting.
  • Experience in Intrusive Surveys.

Qualifications:

  • Institute of Fire Prevention Officer (IFPO)
  • Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) (Level 4)
  • Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) (Level 4)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments Types 1-4: Perform thorough on-site inspections and assessments of buildings, facilities, and processes to identify potential fire hazards, assess fire risks, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing fire safety measures.
  • Analyse fire safety systems and procedures: Review and evaluate fire protection systems, including fire detection and alarm systems, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, evacuation plans, and other relevant fire safety measures, to determine their compliance with regulations and effectiveness in mitigating fire risks.
  • Identify fire safety deficiencies: Identify and document deficiencies or areas where fire safety measures are inadequate, ineffective, or non-compliant. Provide clear and concise recommendations for corrective actions, improvements, and necessary upgrades to enhance fire safety.
  • Prepare detailed reports: Generate comprehensive reports based on fire risk assessments, outlining findings, observations, and recommendations. Communicate technical information effectively to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay updated with regulations and standards: Keep abreast of local, national, and international fire safety codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with applicable standards and integrate new requirements into assessments and recommendations.
  • Collaborate and communicate: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to gather information, understand project requirements, and provide guidance on fire safety measures. Effectively communicate technical concepts and recommendations to non-technical individuals.
  • Provide expertise and advice: Act as a subject matter expert on fire risk assessments and fire safety measures. Offer guidance, support, and advice to clients, colleagues, and project teams to ensure the implementation of effective fire safety strategies.
