The predicted salary is between 58633 - 58633 £ per year.

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday, 8am to 12:00pm Friday

Contract: Permanent

Target Salary: £58,633 per annum

Location: Mobile, covering England and Scotland. Due to the national nature of the role, the successful candidate must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Bircham Newton, King’s Lynn, and be able to travel there on a regular basis. The role also requires regular travel to Inchinnan, Scotland and to Erith, Kent, approximately every 6-12 weeks.

Additional Benefits: Car Allowance £6,799. The post holder will be eligible for either a company car or a car allowance in line with the grade for this role, subject to the vehicle nominated for business use complying with CITB’s Car Policy.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Programme Manager - English, Maths, Personal Development & ICT to lead and develop high-quality provision across our apprenticeship and Essential Skills programmes in England and Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated education leader to drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring learners achieve outstanding outcomes while maintaining compliance with Ofsted, Education Scotland, SDS and funding requirements.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide operational leadership for English, maths (Functional Skills), ICT, Essential Skills and Personal Development provision, leading a team of lecturers and championing a culture of continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead English, maths, ICT and Personal Development provision across England and Scotland
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with organisational quality strategies
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance, achievement and destinations, using data to identify trends and improve performance
  • Lead and contribute to Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), Self-Evaluation Reports (SERs) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs)
  • Ensure compliance with Functional Skills funding requirements, including learner eligibility, assessment, delivery and achievement
  • Oversee quality assurance activities including deep dives, desktop evaluations and quality reviews
  • Develop and deliver an engaging Personal Development curriculum, covering employability, wellbeing, safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and CIAG
  • Line manage and support English, maths, ICT and Personal Development lecturers, providing coaching, challenge and professional development opportunities
  • Promote innovative use of digital tools and technology to enhance learner engagement and outcomes
  • Act as a key representative during inspections, audits and external stakeholder meetings

Essential:

  • Minimum level 3 English or maths qualification
  • Strong knowledge of Functional Skills English & maths delivery and funding (England)
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted EIF and Education Scotland / SDS expectations
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification or above
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification (or commitment to achieve)
  • Experience of leading teams and improving quality in an apprenticeship or FE context
  • Excellent data analysis, communication and organisational skills and ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Desirable:

  • Experience of apprenticeship delivery
  • Experience of cross-nation working and delivery (England & Scotland)
  • Project management capability
  • Level 5 or above English or maths qualification
