Location: Westerham, Kent

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Construction Economist Group is seeking a bright and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor who would benefit from exposure to a diverse range of development projects, within a firm that prioritises professional and personal growth.

The Role

This role will suit a candidate with drive and ambition to be part of a growing company. Candidate must have strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and other professionals. Based in Westerham, the successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the Principal Quantity Surveyor on a broad range of residential and commercial projects. The role is office based, and weekly site visits will be required for most projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with collating tenders
  • Attending and writing minutes for meetings
  • Preparing bills of quantities / cost plans
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly cost reports and final accounts
  • Supporting the QS team with cost estimation & valuations
  • Assisting in contract administration & procurement
  • Working on live projects and building key industry skills

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completed a Quantity Surveying / RICS accredited degree.
  • 24+ months quantity surveying experience within a consultancy / cost management firm with good knowledge of UK construction.
  • Cost planning and project management knowledge
  • Good communication skills - written & oral
  • Pre and post contract cost management experience
  • Worked on projects within the built environment.
  • Proficient in measurements and good knowledge of NRM
