About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established regional fit-out contractor based in East Kilbride. The business is a SME and you will be the main Surveyor working closely with the Director of the company to support commercial requirements within the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including retail shopfitting (with a strong focus on joinery installations), property upgrades, and residential house building.
You will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and supporting the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Managing project costs and monitoring financial performance
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Identifying, valuing, and negotiating variations
- Procuring subcontractors and managing accounts
- Conducting site visits and liaising with project teams
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on schedule
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within fit-out, joinery, or residential construction
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects across varied sectors
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in relevant software and standard QS practices
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred but not essential depending on experience)
