CAD Technician – Civil Engineering Location: Eurocentral, North Lanarkshire Are you an experienced CAD Technician with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure? We are recruiting for a CAD Technician to join an established civil engineering project team based at Eurocentral. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in live infrastructure projects, working closely with Engineers, Site Agents, Quantity Surveyors and the wider project team. The role will suit someone who is confident using AutoCAD, has strong experience producing as-built drawings, and is comfortable carrying out take-offs, measurements and earthworks volume calculations. The Role As CAD Technician, you will provide technical CAD and measurement support across a range of civil engineering activities. Key responsibilities will include: * Producing, amending and maintaining civil engineering CAD drawings * Preparing accurate as-built drawings using site and survey information * Updating construction drawings to reflect completed works * Undertaking drawing take-offs and quantity calculations * Carrying out earthworks and material volume calculations, including cut-and-fill quantities * Assisting with measurements for commercial and project reporting * Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and survey information * Producing drawings relating to roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and wider infrastructure works * Working closely with Engineers and site management to ensure drawings accurately reflect site conditions * Supporting project handover and technical documentation * Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document control * Liaising with site teams to obtain information required for as-built records * Providing wider CAD, measurement and technical support to engineering and commercial teams What We’re Looking For Ideally, you will have: * Previous experience as a CAD Technician within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction * Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD * Experience producing as-built drawings * Experience completing take-offs and quantity calculations * The ability to calculate areas and volumes, particularly for earthworks and construction materials * A good understanding of civil engineering drawings and terminology * Experience working with survey information and site data * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Good communication and organisational skills * The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider project team Experience using Civil 3D or similar civil engineering design or measurement software would be advantageous. Candidates with experience across highways, roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, infrastructure or heavy civils would be particularly well suited. Interested?
