My client, a growing house builder, are seeking a Quantity Surveyor. As Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Place contracts for all relevant subcontractor work on their developments.
- Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing and ensure that contracts are placed in line with the build programme.
- Produce a detailed trade specific scope of works and qualification notes for all enquiry documentation.
- Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who to appoint.
- Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with all orders/contracts placed.
- Manage subcontractor payments.
- Process stage payments to subcontractors when due.
- Ensure all contra charges are managed.
- Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors.
- Review and process variations in accordance with terms and conditions.
- Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates for the build programme are achieved.
- Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical and commercially viable.
- Regularly attend project meetings on site.
- Provide cost advice for the sales team.
- Produce regular reporting.
- Compile full cost reports for each development, to include services, materials, sub-contract and prelim costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a residential house builder.
- Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
