An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Procurement Business Partners to join our growing team, managing and developing relationships with our expanding portfolio of public sector clients.
This is a highly client-facing role for someone who combines strong procurement expertise with excellent relationship management skills and is looking for more than "just another Procurement job".
You’ll become a trusted procurement partner to your clients, helping them navigate complex procurement requirements, identify future opportunities and achieve the best possible commercial outcomes.
* Although this position is currently North East based, there is flexibility around other locations including North, Midlands, South East
Job Purpose
As a Procurement Business Partner, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 15-20 client accounts, acting as a key point of contact and an extension of their procurement teams.
Around 80% of your role will be client-facing, focused on building relationships, understanding strategic priorities and developing forward procurement pipelines. The remaining 20% will involve operational procurement activity, including supporting more complex procurement projects and competitions.
You'll be supported by our Operational Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams, enabling you to focus on developing strong client relationships and delivering excellent commercial outcomes.

Act as a trusted procurement partner and key point of contact for clients
Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and become an extension of their procurement teams
Understand clients’ strategic priorities, budgets, commercial objectives and future procurement requirements
Develop forward pipelines and identify opportunities as early as possible
Provide advice on procurement approaches, routes to market and commercial strategy
Lead and support complex procurement projects, competitions and sourcing activity
Conduct regular client account reviews and procurement pipeline planning sessions
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operational Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Legal and Finance
Manage multiple client relationships, procurement projects and priorities simultaneously
Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and increase clients’ use of Constellia’s services
Maintain strong knowledge of public sector procurement legislation, governance and best practice

Strong experience within procurement, commercial management or category management
Experience working within or supporting public sector organisations
Good understanding of public sector procurement processes, governance and routes to market
Experience managing complex procurement projects, tenders or competitions
Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills
Confidence communicating with and influencing senior stakeholders
Experience managing multiple clients, projects or workstreams simultaneously
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, accountable and solutions-focused approach
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively
Experience working with Central Government, Defence, Local Government, Housing Associations, NHS organisations, Blue Light Services or Higher Education would be particularly valuable.
This is a highly client-facing role, with regular face-to-face and virtual client meetings. You're likely to work from home around 2-3 days per week, with the remainder of your time spent meeting clients depending on the needs and location of your portfolio.
Whilst a driving licence isn't essential, travel across the UK is a key requirement of the role and you must be comfortable travelling regularly to build and maintain strong client relationships.
