Team Leader - Catering & Hospitality Job Purpose We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Team Leader to support the daily operation of our catering and hospitality services. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring high standards of food service, customer care, and operational efficiency across breakfast, lunch, supper, café services, and hospitality events. Working closely with the Catering Manager, the Team Leader will provide day-to-day supervision of the catering team, support service delivery, and help maintain a positive and professional working environment. Key Responsibilities Catering Operations Oversee the daily delivery of breakfast, lunch, and supper services. Ensure food is presented and served to the highest standards. Support kitchen and front-of-house teams during busy service periods. Monitor service quality and address issues promptly. Café Support Provide operational support to the café service. Ensure excellent customer service is maintained at all times. Assist with stock control, merchandising, and cleanliness standards. Hospitality & Events Coordinate and oversee day-to-day hospitality events and functions. Ensure meeting rooms and event spaces are set up to required standards. Liaise with customers to ensure hospitality requirements are met. Team Leadership Lead and motivate the catering team through a hands-on approach. Assist with staff training, induction, and development. Support rota management and daily work allocation. Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company procedures. Catering Manager Support Act as the first point of contact in the absence of the Catering Manager. Support the Catering Manager with operational planning and organisation. Assist with stock management, ordering, and cost control. Contribute ideas for service improvements and team development. Skills & Experience Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service operations. Supervisory or team leader experience preferred. Hands-on approach with the ability to work alongside the team. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Strong customer service focus. Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements. Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs. Personal Attributes Positive and professional attitude. Reliable and dependable. Strong leadership and people management skills. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Hours Primarily Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 6:30pm. Flexibility is required to support additional weekend working when needed. The successful candidate must be willing to work occasional later shifts to support hospitality events and business requirements.
