Job Description
Would you like to work amongst the action at Newbury Racecourse? You could be a part of the exciting and enthusiastic team of individuals that are the driving force behind delivering exceptional horse racing events.
- Bar Staff - Pouring and serving draught beers, knowledge of wine and spirits
- Cashier - Managing and taking card payments, able to have a good understanding of till systems
- Food Service Assistants - preparing and serving food alongside chefs/supervision
Working in one of these customer-facing roles, you will be involved in the delivery and sales of our delicious range of food and drink to our racecourse guests, balancing efficiency with product knowledge and ensuring customers are greeted with a smile.
You will be working effectively alongside chefs, managers, and other employees of Newbury Racecourse to ensure a smooth delivery of service, to our guests.
We have some important racing throughout the year to choose from, along with Corporate Events.
- August 2025: 5th, 15th-16th, 28th
- September 2025: 19th-20th
- October 2025: 24th-25th
- November 2025: 6th, 28th-29th
- December 2025: 17th, 29th

Responsibilities:
- Pouring and making beverage requests efficiently and accurately (single/double measure of spirits, Draught beers and Wine measurements to order)
- Preparing and serving food items alongside chefs
- Stock rotation and replenishment
- Communicating with colleagues and taking direction to ensure smooth delivery
- Develop an understanding of the product range available (drinks items, dietary needs, menu knowledge)
- Managing and taking card payments
Requirements:
- Confidence and compassion when interacting with customers and colleagues
- Excellent teamworking skills
- Working in a fast paced environment
- A driven and dependable approach to work
- Upbeat, welcoming cheerful personality
- The ability to remain calm during high-volume periods
- CV required for application
- Living in the local area with accessibility to Newbury Racecourse via public transport or driving
- No previous experience necessary – full training provided
