Ward Host / Catering Assistant – Part Time & Full Time Opportunities

Constellation, working in partnership with Compass Group, is recruiting Ward Hosts / Catering Assistants to support patient dining services across hospital sites nationwide. Working hours:

  • Flexible part-time and full-time shifts
  • A variety of shift patterns to suit your availability

The role:

  • Presenting menus and taking meal orders from patients
  • Supporting patients with dietary and allergen requirements
  • Preparing and delivering meals and refreshments for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Clearing ward areas and washing up, ensuring readiness for the next service
  • Liaising with ward staff to ensure patient needs are met promptly
  • Delivering excellent customer service with a patient-first approach
  • Working in line with Compass and NHS food safety and hygiene standards

About you:

  • Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Passionate about patient care with strong communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team
  • Confident working in a hospital environment, including with patients who may be unwell or distressed
  • No previous Ward Host experience required - full training provided
  • Willingness to learn, take pride in your work, and go the extra mile for patients
