At the heart of our operation, our Catering Assistants play a vital role in delivering exceptional food and service within a hospital environment. If you bring great energy, a positive attitude, and a strong can-do mindset, we’d love to hear from you! We’re currently recruiting Catering Assistants to support ad hoc bookings across the local area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work Monday to Friday, with early starts from 7am.

Please note: Previous experience in cold food preparation and washing up is required, and black safety shoes are essential. Due to the nature of this role, you will need an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities In this role, you will:

  • Deliver friendly, professional service to colleagues, patients, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold drinks
  • Serve hot and cold food items, including sandwiches and light meals
  • Ensure food displays are well-stocked, fresh, and visually appealing at all times
  • Keep stock levels topped up and report any shortages promptly
  • Operate tills and handle transactions accurately
  • Ensure all cutlery, crockery, and glassware are cleaned to high standards
  • Clean cooking utensils during preparation and service
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen environment
  • Dispose of kitchen waste correctly
  • Assist with set-up and clear-down for service
  • Uphold excellent hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and as trained
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling, and COSHH procedures
  • Wear PPE as required
  • Bring a positive attitude and enjoy your work
