We are currently recruiting a Storage Coordinator and envisage that this post will suit someone who has previous experience with a stock/inventory management position and has a desire to step up to a varied and challenging role which will include client-facing exposure. The role is likely to evolve and grow in time along with the company and so a flexible approach will be required. We are looking for someone to own the storage function and look to introduce improvements and efficiencies whilst also modernising processes. Ultimately this role should look to add real value to the company through fully integrating the storage function into the wider business and looking for revenue-driving activities while at the same time ensuring that our clients receive professional and best-in-class service.
Main responsibilities
- Management and ownership of the day-to-day, month-to-month and year-to-year activities of the storage function
- Processing both inbound and outbound domestic requests for movement of items
- Warehouse instructions for onsite viewings, unpacking, packing, disposal of packaging, photographing, item condition reports, etc.
- Updating of inventory lists and sending to clients on request
- Organising installations and decants for storage clients
- Invoicing clients for storage-related activity
- Manage and organise storage audits
- Work closely with the in-house customs team to ensure compliance with all bond requirements
- Look for efficiencies and best practice in processes
- Maximise utilisation through liaising and working with the warehouse team
- Analyse and report on profitability of storage areas
- Review storage rate charges and manage and carry out increase notifications
- Speak with prospective clients about offering and pricing including tours of our facilities
Requirements
- Experience of a warehouse environment
- Experience of stock control/inventory management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP function
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to communicate appropriately dependent on the audience
- Proactive and hands-on approach
- Inquisitive and ability to investigate, own and resolve issues
Desirable
- Experience within a logistics and storage company
- Previous experience in a client-facing role
