Do you enjoy litigation where you can take ownership of your files rather than feeling heavily micromanaged? Are you looking for a role where you can handle a broad mix of commercial and civil disputes while working in a modern, forward-thinking environment? Do you want to join a growing team where your ideas, commercial thinking, and approach to client care will actually be valued?
We are recruiting for a Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a growing and ambitious legal team handling a varied caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters. This role would suit someone who enjoys managing files with a good level of autonomy whilst still being part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. The work is varied, interesting, and commercially focused. You will be trusted to manage matters properly, communicate directly with clients, and play an active role in progressing cases from instruction through to resolution.
This is not a heavily process-driven environment where you are simply passing files around. The team is looking for someone who enjoys thinking commercially, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work.
The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of litigation matters
- Drafting pleadings, applications, letters before action, and legal advice
- Handling matters from instruction through to resolution
- Conducting case strategy and risk assessment
- Attending hearings including County Court, High Court, Tribunals, and Adjudications where appropriate
- Progressing claims, applications, and enforcement action
- Taking over and progressing existing files effectively
- Building strong relationships with clients and maintaining high service standards
- Working closely with colleagues whilst managing your own workload efficiently
The team is also keen to embrace modern legal technology and more efficient ways of working, so candidates who are comfortable adopting new systems, workflows, and AI-assisted tools will be particularly well suited.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Litigation experience gained within a legal practice environment
- Ability to manage files with appropriate supervision depending on level
- Strong drafting and organisational skills
- Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Confident communication skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Comfortable using case management systems and legal technology
- Positive and collaborative approach
Why This Role Stands Out
- Varied and quality litigation work
- Growing and forward-thinking environment
- Opportunity for progression
- Supportive but autonomous culture
- Exposure to a broad range of commercial and civil disputes
- Opportunity to develop long-term client relationships
- Modern approach to systems and technology
This role could suit someone newly qualified looking for strong development opportunities, or a more experienced litigator wanting greater autonomy and progression within a growing team.
