Are you someone who enjoys winning new business and opening doors? Have you worked within SaaS, media, publishing, or content-focused technology and understand how to build commercial relationships? Do you prefer hunting for new opportunities rather than simply managing existing accounts?

We are working with a growing technology business looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager to focus heavily on new business generation and revenue growth. This role is very much aimed at somebody who enjoys the front end of sales such as identifying opportunities, starting conversations, building relationships, and converting prospects into long-term clients.

The company operates within the digital/content technology space, working with well-known brands and organisations. This is not an account management role disguised as sales. They are specifically looking for somebody who is proactive, target-driven, and genuinely enjoys developing new business opportunities.

  • Proactively identifying and winning new business opportunities
  • Building outbound sales strategies and generating leads through networking, LinkedIn, research, and outreach
  • Managing the full sales process from initial conversation through to close
  • Working closely with internal teams on proposals and commercial discussions
  • Attending client meetings, networking events, and industry events
  • Keeping Salesforce updated with accurate pipeline and forecasting information
  • Staying aware of market trends, competitor activity, and commercial opportunities

Requirements:

  • Strong new business / business development experience
  • A genuine hunter mentality with a proactive approach to sales
  • Experience within SaaS, publishing, media, content, or technology environments
  • Comfortable building relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and working towards revenue targets
  • Confident using CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Hybrid working typically two days per week in the office
  • Some travel required for meetings and events
  • Occasional flexibility required outside standard working hours for networking/client events
