Are you a detail-oriented manual tester who loves thinking like a user? Do you enjoy turning user stories into clear, actionable test plans? Confident communicating with developers, BAs, and stakeholders alike?

We are working with a growing financial services business in West Malling (hybrid working available after probation), and they are looking for a Manual Software Tester to join their close-knit IT team.

You will play a key role in ensuring software is tested thoroughly before going live – helping to identify bugs, raise defects, and ultimately improve the user experience. This role is mostly office-based, with the option of working from home one day a week after probation. There’s also a requirement to do out-of-hours implementation testing roughly once a week – and any time worked is logged and given back.

What you will be doing:

  • Reading user stories and technical specs to understand what needs testing
  • Creating test plans and test cases with a user-focused approach
  • Executing manual tests and documenting bugs clearly
  • Collaborating with developers, BAs and other stakeholders to ensure issues are understood and fixed
  • Supporting with UAT and answering queries
  • Suggesting improvements to processes and documentation
  • Helping with general IT support requests (training provided)
  • Occasionally assisting with technical documentation for proposed system changes

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in manual software testing
  • Ability to write test cases and execute them confidently
  • Good communicator – able to explain issues clearly in plain English
  • Curious mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Organised and methodical approach to managing your own workload

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of the mortgage or financial services industry
  • Familiarity with ClickUp, SQL or Microsoft Office
  • Experience supporting UAT or liaising with non-technical users

If you are methodical, user-focused, and enjoy working in a collaborative tech team, this could be a great opportunity to grow your testing skills in a supportive environment.
