UK based with European travel £60,000–£70,000 depending on experience 5% uncapped commission on new business sales

  • Are you an experienced B2B salesperson with a strong track record of winning new business?
  • Have you sold software or technology solutions across Europe, particularly within DACH or the Nordic countries?
  • Would you like the opportunity to take ownership of a European market and play a key role in developing it?

We are recruiting for an experienced European Business Development Manager to join an established technology business providing digital publishing software to leading newspaper and magazine publishers around the world.

The company already has an international client base and an established sales presence across the UK, North America and Asia-Pacific.

They are now looking for somebody to take ownership of new business development across Europe, with a particular focus on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic countries.

This is not a traditional BDR role focused purely on generating leads or booking appointments.

You will be responsible for developing the market, opening new opportunities and managing the complete sales process through to close.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Identifying and approaching prospective newspaper, magazine and digital publishing organisations
  • Developing new business across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic countries
  • Building a strong pipeline through research, Linked In, CRM data, industry news and publisher associations
  • Leading consultative sales conversations, product demonstrations and commercial presentations
  • Understanding each prospective client’s challenges and positioning the company’s technology accordingly
  • Managing opportunities from initial contact through to negotiation and close
  • Developing relationships with relevant industry bodies, events and publisher associations
  • Working closely with the Growth Marketing Executive on targeted campaigns, content and market-specific messaging
  • Providing insight into European markets to help shape the wider commercial strategy
  • Maintaining accurate Salesforce records, forecasts and pipeline reporting
  • Travelling within Europe for client meetings, conferences and industry events

They are looking for somebody who combines strong commercial drive with a thoughtful and consultative approach.

You may already have experience selling technology into publishing, media or content-led organisations.

Alternatively, you may come from another B2B Saa S or software environment where you have sold complex solutions to senior decision-makers.

To be considered, you will need

  • A successful background in B2B new-business sales
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle rather than simply generating leads
  • A proven track record of winning and closing new business
  • Experience selling Saa S, software or technology-led solutions
  • Confidence presenting to senior commercial and operational stakeholders
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline
  • The ability to work independently and take genuine ownership of a market
  • A willingness to travel throughout Europe for client meetings and events

Previous experience selling into DACH or the Nordic countries would be a significant advantage.

Fluency in German or a Nordic language would also be highly valuable, although it is not essential if you can demonstrate strong experience selling into these markets.

This is an opportunity to join an established international technology business and play a central role in developing its European presence.

You will have the freedom to shape the market, influence the go-to-market approach and build long-term relationships within a specialist global industry.

  • £60,000–£70,000 depending on experience
  • 5% uncapped commission on new business sales
  • European travel required
  • Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK
