Business Analyst - Microsoft 365 Transformation Salary: £40,000–£50,000 Remote - UK Only Are you a Business Analyst with experience supporting Microsoft 365 or modern workplace projects? Do you enjoy speaking with business users, asking questions and understanding how their systems support day-to-day work? Can you turn detailed conversations into clear process maps, requirements and documentation? We are recruiting for a growing technology consultancy delivering Microsoft, cloud, infrastructure and cybersecurity services. They are looking for a Business Analyst to support discovery and requirements gathering in preparation for an anticipated major Microsoft technology migration. Working alongside a Lead Business Analyst, you will help establish how the business uses its existing technology. This will include understanding how teams collaborate, manage documents, share information and use applications to carry out their work. You will investigate existing processes, identify pain points and workarounds, and document the requirements that need to be considered before migration. The quality of this discovery will help the delivery team understand what the business relies on and where changes could affect day-to-day operations. This is a business-facing role with regular contact with technical colleagues. You will need practical experience of Microsoft technology projects, confidence asking follow-up questions and the ability to make detailed information clear and usable. The Lead Business Analyst will provide direction and review your work, while you take ownership of agreed analysis tasks and deliverables. Key Responsibilities * Conduct interviews and support discovery workshops with business users and process owners. * Understand how teams use Microsoft 365 and connected applications in their day-to-day work. * Document current business processes, information flows and system interactions. * Identify critical activities, manual workarounds, pain points and improvement opportunities. * Capture requirements relating to collaboration, document management, information ownership and access. * Investigate application dependencies and potential business impacts relevant to migration. * Analyse and clarify business and user requirements. * Support the validation and prioritisation of requirements with the Lead Business Analyst. * Produce process maps, use cases, requirements documents and acceptance criteria. * Maintain accurate records of decisions, actions, assumptions and outstanding questions. * Support gap analysis and the documentation of future-state processes. * Work with technical specialists to clarify requirements and respond to questions. * Raise risks, inconsistencies and gaps promptly. * Help prepare test scenarios and support business users during User Acceptance Testing. * Support business readiness through clear documentation and communication. Essential Experience To be considered, you will need: Practical experience working as a Business Analyst on technology change or systems implementation projects. The ability to investigate information flows, system interactions and process dependencies. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Clear written documentation and confident verbal communication. The ability to work effectively with business users and technical colleagues. An organised approach to managing tasks, following up actions and maintaining records. The ability to take ownership of agreed deliverables and incorporate feedback. Relevant Technology Experience Your experience is likely to include some of the following: Microsoft 365 implementation or migration projects. SharePoint Online and document management. Microsoft Teams and collaboration. OneDrive and file storage. Exchange Online and business communication. Power Apps and Power Automate. Applications and workflows connected to Microsoft services. Permissions, information access and document ownership. Wider modern workplace or cloud transformation. You do not need experience across every technology listed. Desirable Experience Experience supporting technology migrations or SharePoint projects. Experience working within a technology consultancy, managed service provider or professional services organisation. Supporting User Acceptance Testing and documenting acceptance criteria. Exposure to information governance or business readiness activities. Familiarity with Waterfall or Agile delivery approaches. Experience using process modelling techniques such as BPMN or UML.
