Dynamics 365BC experience required!
We are working with a successful, growing international organisation looking to appoint a Business Systems Manager with experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central into a newly created senior position within its IT function.
This is much more than an ERP focused role it has significant focus across the full application landscape.
The organisation has invested heavily in its technology landscape and now wants an experienced systems leader who can take ownership of its wider business applications environment, lead an established systems team and help shape how technology supports the next stage of business growth.
You will work closely with the Head of IT, senior leadership team and stakeholders across the business, helping define the systems roadmap, improve business processes and ensure the organisation continues to maximise the value of its technology investments.
The Company
The business is a well-established international organisation operating within the clothing and equipment sector, with a strong global brand presence and around 300 employees worldwide. It has experienced significant growth in recent years.
The company has a passionate, high-energy culture and a strong focus on product, collaboration and continuous improvement. Technology is seen as a key enabler of future growth, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants genuine influence over how systems support an international business.
The Role
As Business Systems Manager, you will:
- Lead, manage and develop an established Business Systems team.
- Take ownership of the ongoing optimisation and improvement of core business applications.
- Help define and deliver the organisation’s wider business systems strategy and roadmap.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technology solutions.
- Support major business transformation programmes from a systems perspective.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, integration, data and emerging technologies.
- Ensure business systems remain reliable, scalable, secure and aligned with future business requirements.
- Oversee integrations and data flows between ERP, eCommerce, reporting and other business platforms.
- Improve reporting and business intelligence capabilities across the organisation.
- Manage relationships with external technology partners, software vendors and implementation providers.
- Establish clear priorities across the Systems team while developing capability and technical standards.
- Champion continuous improvement and explore opportunities around AI and intelligent automation.
The Tech Environment
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central sits at the heart of the organisation's systems landscape and integrates with a number of other business-critical platforms.
There is also a wider ecosystem covering areas such as:
- Business intelligence and reporting
- eCommerce
- CRM
- Product and operational systems
- Third-party integrations and APIs
- Power BI
- Jet Reports
- SQL
- Microsoft technologies
- Automation and AI
This is not a development role. External Microsoft partners handle bespoke development, so the focus will be on understanding the technology, defining requirements, challenging solutions and ensuring systems deliver genuine business value.
What we are looking for
We are interested in speaking with experienced Business Systems, ERP or Applications leaders who combine strong technical credibility with excellent commercial and people skills.
You are likely to have:
- Strong experience working with ERP and wider business applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required.
- A strong understanding of how ERP systems support Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and wider business processes.
- Experience managing or mentoring a technical, applications or systems team.
- A track record of delivering system improvements and transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of integrations, data structures and system interfaces.
- Experience with reporting technologies such as Power BI, Jet Reports or SQL.
- The ability to communicate confidently with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to challenge existing processes rather than simply maintain them.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence change across a business.
- Curiosity around automation, AI and how emerging technology can improve business performance.
Most importantly, this organisation wants someone who can look beyond individual systems and understand how technology can make the wider business better.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a newly created position offering genuine scope to influence the organisation's technology strategy.
You will inherit an experienced systems team and a modern ERP platform, meaning the focus is not on fixing a failing environment. Instead, the opportunity is to build on an established foundation, improve how technology supports the business and help shape the next phase of its transformation.
The organisation has ambitious growth plans, a highly engaged leadership team and a culture built around collaboration, ambition, curiosity and continuous improvement.
