Job Description
Shift E&I Technician
Our client's Hull Plant are looking to add to they're Maintenance team with a Shift E&I Technician on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern, supporting the ongoing proactive works to maintain site operations.

As an E&I Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant. Your responsibilities will include conducting planned maintenance routines, troubleshooting, and rectifying faults. Collaborating closely with the operations team, you'll ensure compliance with regulations and utilise the CMMS effectively.
This role is working on a rotating 12 hour shift pattern involving days and nights, and entails working with sophisticated systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) in hazardous environments. Experience in similar roles within COMAH sites would be advantageous. The position offers autonomy and ample opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities of the E&I Technician:
- Perform maintenance of all field electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Maintain equipment condition records through effective use of the CMMS
- Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot, and resolve faults with the E&I systems
- Develop and assist in specifying and writing E&I permits
- Co-ordination with other disciplines and external support personnel
- Occasionally work shifts to provide coverage for fellow E&I Technicians
- Promote best practice behaviours within the site
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times
Qualifications of the E&I Technician
- Apprentice trained
- ONC / HNC Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Process Control or equivalent
- NVQ 3 in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Process Control or equivalent
- CompEx trained for both gas and dust (Ex01 to Ex06 inclusive)
- Previous experience in similar roles within COMAH sites
- Understanding of Safety Critical and Safety Instrumented Systems
- Proficient in maintenance, repair, and installation of E&I systems
- Experiences in the issuing and receiving of permits to work
- Understanding of risk assessment techniques desirable
- PLC system knowledge, particularly Siemens S7
