We are working on behalf of our highly successful client, Consortium, who are seeking a Procurement Category Manager. The role will take ownership of a key product category, specialising in sourcing products for global distribution. This is a high-profile role where you'll work closely with the International Business Manager and report directly to the Procurement Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing of products for export to leading global clients
  • Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiating terms and ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Deliver cost savings and optimise category performance through strategic procurement initiatives
  • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviours and competitor activity across international markets
  • Identify opportunities for product launches in specific countries, aligned with local demand and preferences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial, marketing, and logistics to drive category success
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the Procurement Director on performance, opportunities, and risks

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in procurement/category management, ideally within FMCG or Food or Retail
  • Strong understanding of food or grocery sectors, and what drives consumer preferences globally
  • Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Experience working in or with international markets is highly desirable
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
