Import Coordinator

Consortium Professional Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively with our client, a respected and growing organisation within the logistics sector, to appoint an Import Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day activities of the import function and ensuring the smooth and timely handling of consignments.Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate job planning, load scheduling, and file completion to ensure all required documentation is accurately prepared.
• Liaise closely with internal teams to confirm loading times and ensure shipments meet shipping and delivery deadlines.
• Allocate drivers to scheduled loads, providing full details and deadlines.
• Prepare driver run sheets and unloading lists.
• Book ferry crossings and monitor shipping schedules.
• Maintain regular communication with other managers to ensure smooth daily operations and timely turnarounds.
• Prepare and complete files for invoicing and charging purposes.
• Verify that trailers and drivers have shipped as planned.
• Cross-check all relevant information to maintain high levels of accuracy.
• Support the Import Manager in planning collections, deliveries, and subcontracted jobs as required.
• Maintain contact with drivers throughout the day to monitor delivery and collection progress.
• Monitor daily workloads and ensure operational tasks are completed on schedule.
• Manage subcontracted work and allocate associated costs.
• Track deliveries through agents and subcontractors.
• Provide regular delivery updates to customers.
• Offer holiday and sickness cover for the wider import team when necessary.
• Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Import Manager.
