Consortium Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client on a newly created Electrical Draughtsperson opportunity. This is a fantastic role within a progressive and innovative engineering business. As an Electrical Draughtsperson, you will have the chance to work across a broad variety of bespoke design projects that make a real impact. You will be part of a collaborative environment where your ideas and technical input are genuinely valued. This will be working in a team of 4 in the Electrical Design team working on both existing designs, NPD and liaising with the R&D team. Ideally, the client is looking for a senior/experienced electrical designer team where they can pass their knowledge and experience on to the junior engineers.
The Opportunity:
- Designing and producing high-quality electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
- Supporting the electrical design function through collaboration with design engineers and production teams
- Interpreting technical specifications and customer requirements into accurate and functional drawings
- Maintaining accurate documentation and version control throughout the design lifecycle
- Identifying and implementing design improvements that enhance efficiency, performance or safety
You will be working as part of a close-knit team of four within the electrical drafting department, contributing to knowledge sharing and ensuring consistency in high standards of work. Your work will directly contribute to the development of reliable, high-quality systems that support cutting-edge projects across a range of industries. Collaborate with design engineers to ensure seamless integration between mechanical and electrical designs.
About You:
- Experience in electrical drafting or design using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
- Proven experience producing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
- A solid understanding of electrical principles, control systems and component selection
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and translate technical information
- Confidence working independently and communicating across departments
- Your problem-solving mindset, adaptability and desire to produce accurate, effective designs will help you thrive in this role.
